Sets of phonics books and slipcase
I had the pleasure of working with the hugely talented writers, Art Directors and illustrators at Mrs Wordsmith on sets of early-learning books. The Readiculous Readers are phonics books developed with education experts to reflect curriculum requirements, helping early readers to gain confidence and fluency.
Each set features 12 books that systematically progress, introducing and revisiting letter sounds, with funny, engaging stories using a cast of fun and appealing characters.
Legibility and clear visual signposting are essential to help guide early readers, with the pictures themselves being an integral part of the storytelling at this stage. I worked in close conjunction with the artists and writers to ensure the design and layout complimented, rather than got in the way of, the story. Bespoke onomatopoeic type was also incorporated to enhance action scenes and add to the cartoony sense of fun.
