Various marketing materials
This is a selection of design work done for a range of EMEA Boomerang feeds. I found that, in these territories in particular, the channel reflected an audience with a real appreciation for, and focus on, classic cartoons and slapstick humour.
Time limitations, workload and budget restraints rarely allowed for the use of freelance illustrators so projects often relied on some inventive re-use of artwork library character poses or existing elements that had been illustrated for earlier jobs — putting them in a fresh context, sometimes slightly adjusting a pose or expression, or incorporating some character-driven interaction with the channel logo in some way. In addition to building a deep knowledge of characters and brands, I believe that gaining a strong knowledge of, and familiarity with, available artwork is essential.
